Our Mission
At Freedom Academy, our mission is to prepare students for a lifetime of success by developing the academic skills and character traits they need to thrive.

Our Vision
At Freedom Academy our vision is for students to build ownership of their educational experience and grow their intellectual curiosity in an environment that is designed to make learning enjoyable and inevitable.
Our Goals
Freedom Academy plans to participate in the Minnesota Survey to regularly collect and analyze data in the areas that are surveyed to better inform policy decisions and program development.
Freedom Academy has identified potential actions the school will take in response to the specific data insights into student and family characteristics in the St. Cloud area community where the school plans to locate.
Freedom Academy will provide a social-emotional learning leadership program to address the mental health, emotional distress, and bullying in the community that the Minnesota Survey indicated are issues for students in the St. Cloud public schools.

At Freedom Academy, we believe that everyone has the potential to learn and grow, and we're here to help your child to achieve their goals. Freedom Academy is being established with all students and particularly the at-risk and Afrocentric community’s needs in mind. Its leaders are key figures in St. Cloud, working for decades with St. Cloud’s at-risk families through church, the Boys and Girls Club, and the schools. These community leaders know that the needs of the at-risk, African American, and Black children are not being met by the existing schools, as is evidenced by low participation of African American or Black students in gifted programs, low test scores, low graduation rates, and few students going on to college.
Freedom Academy will be a strong option for St. Cloud students seeking a school that is designed and determined to help all students achieve postsecondary success. Its inspirational Rise Up leadership program and individualized academic rigor assure that students below grade level can catch up. At the same time, this approach engages students who are on and above grade level to continue to make accelerated progress. The community in St. Cloud that the founding board members have engaged are excited and enthusiastic about the prospect of a new charter school designed specifically with their needs in mind.
